What’s all the fuss about the game running poorly on higher end cards?
I have a 3060 ti and can run the game smoothly on high settings. Why are people getting bad frames on 40 series cards (assuming they are)?

cause they have ridiculous "standards" and if a game doesn't run at 300 fps then it's running "poorly"

its funnily enough rather common for people with below mid tier from a decade ago computers to claim their pc is high end

"wawawa my HIGH END computer has bad fps, why?!"

gtx 1080
8gb 1600mhz ram
FX-8350
1tb HDD

It runs like ass compared to Eternal without looking that much better. My 5080 at 3440x1440 does... fine... with this, hovering around 75-90 FPS with nightmare and as little fake framing as I could find and it STILL looks blurry sometimes. Eternal just refuses to go below 144FPS no matter what I do. Unlocked FPS stays 210+ peaking at almost 300 Everything cranked, RTX and stuff. It just goes. This is not an issue with unreasonable standards, everyone with eyes can see how little better this looks compared to the massive performance hit. This has happened with soooo many new UE5 games that it's getting tiring.

Slapping on artificially generated frames and upscaling is NOT a solution, it's a hack that should only happen IF you run outdated hardware and as things are, they won't be supported anyways so it just ends up being subpar.

Not even sure if the 30 series has access to any of those features, I could be wrong through.

You can run AMD framegen, helped a ton with MH:Wilds when I had 3080.

edit: no clue if that works with doom now that I think about it. Luckily didn't need to find out.

4090
i7-14700KF
2560x1440
All maxed out
With DLAA (not even DLSS)
Running on stable 120 FPS

Usually when I hear someone saying "I have high end PC" they don't take under consideration their CPU. So they mainly run on newest RTXes while having some garbage 7 years old CPU that can't handle and they are not even aware of it - Seen even one streamer crying how one game runs so badly as he has 4090, when they asked about his CPU it was some old gen 6 years old and he got bottleneck not even being aware of it.

The problem is Dark Ages doesn't look much better than Eternal but it's easily 2X probably 3X more demanding all because the devs didn't want to spend the time doing traditional normal lighting and such.

Yes Dark Ages does look better but not enough to warrant such a massive drop in performance.

I will say that it’s a bit scummy that rt is a requirement to run the game, but at least people are finding workarounds already.

Framegen is Framegen it doesn't really matter the newest DLSS framegen just looks better and that's about it, the input delay is about the same for both the AI, AMD, or even 3rd party framegen theses days.

What GPU did you have when Eternal was released?

Lol
And when RTX 20 series came out with 50% pricetag and it was clear as day we would see 3k cards in few generations, ecerybody was like:"shutup and take my money".
Where are the excuses now- oh devs have so much less work to do, bc not having to add baked lightning. And the game will be so beautiful with RTX effects like god itself would shine light on ur eyes.
Consumets themselves PAID for this kind of perf (degradation)...

this X100
The only thing missing is the people who post their specs as "Can run Battlefield on max setting."

Did you meet the objectively more stringent system requirements of eternal when it released?

And if you did, did you consider it scummy for the game to have a 4 year old graphics card as a minimum requirement?

The Dark Ages requires a technology that has been in the last 4 generations of graphics cards for longer than that, and is in current games consoles. It is not even a particularly harsh requirement, just be on par with an xbox.

1070Ti at 2560x1440. Now if someone would like to explain what this has to do with "Massive performance hit without any visual gain" please, go ahead.
