ammo conservation is like part of Doom core since the first game
with the exception of Doom 2016 with ammo everywhere and it's infinite ammo cheat code in form of a rune in-game, idk how people was fine with that to be honest
3. goto 1.
OP obviously skipped the tutorials or they'd know how to get ammo drops aplenty.
Doom Eternal style starving of ammo.. this is not.
You see that's the issue. In old Doom games you could simply decide how to play the game. If you wanted to use all guns, you could. If you had 1 favorite and only use that, you could that also. If you wanted to do pistol only masochistic runs, suit yourself.
Since Doom Eternal you are forced to play the game how the devs want you to play.
Typical braindead troll replies which is already so 2010ish boring comeback.
What if i tell you that there are people out there who would easily mop the floor with you in these games but still dislike this mechanic.
the only thing i do often, I use melee attack, but that's only for damage, refilling ammo is a side effect
