DOOM The Dark Ages on linux
I'm on RTX 3080 ti and I pre ordered Premium Deluxe for this game, it said that I needed to update on drivers however I don't seem to work on Linux and if I manage to somehow download it it said something about coding error so It don't work. When I launch the game without any driver update the frame rate if awful and it's unplayable, even in low graphic setting the FPS is awful with more frustration and for this very expensive price I bought for I want refund.

Someone else on the board said it ran on the steam deck just fine. Is it a proton version thing?

TDA is having major issues with crashing and performance right now, not a big surprise it won't start on linux for some people.

Hopefully things improve.

The pros far outweigh the cons. If you want bloatware and spyware and kernel level access by programs that should not have kernel level access - enjoy Windows.

2070s, arch linux, steam-native-runtime, proton experimental. the game works fine on my machine, already have beaten 6 levels (took 7.5 hours to get all secrets)

For AMD users - you need to use the latest Mesa available on their git repo (this is highly distribution specific). Arch and Fedora (using a COPR repo for Mesa-git) are confirmed working. I am now able to play on Fedora 42 with a 6800XT without any crashes or apparent issues.

How many fps are you getting? I have a 5700x3d with a 7900xt and I am stuck at around 45fps with heavy upscaling. And yes I have the latest Mesa available, that was the only way to get it to launch. Also Fedora 42
