Bug on Second Level's Tutorial for Shield Saw

Second tutorial interaction of the second level, the one in which you freshly unlock the shield saw, asks you to use shield throw on super-heated metal 5 times.

Each time I throw it produces the desired effect of exploding the shields and the enemies, but the tutorial mission quest does not track - and so I cannot progress further into the game. I have tried priming the enemies' shields with gunfire to ensure the shields were superheated but alas that didn't do anything for mission progress either.

I have restarted from last checkpoint to see if it would work then, still the same issue. I will try restarting the game itself but this has been a rather unfun break in the flow of what should otherwise be a badass time of ripping and tearing. :/

Update: Restarting did not fix it, however, I found that by throwing the shield around 40 times I was able to tick away at the mission progress until it eventually registered the 5 hit-destructions necessary.

However, I noticed if shield hit the ground in correct angle it would reflect and fly further. And if it hit the enemy shield it cause mini-explosion, which is occasionally work as real shield-boom and quest progresses.

This is weird, but that worked.

Same issue here, but nothing seems to help. Shattered tons of shields, restarted...just doesn't register

I found that reducing the FPS to < 60 allowed for like 1/10 kills to result in a "successful kill." Game is pretty good so far, but my God are the cut-scenes + these bugs annoying.

same here, stuck for hours, gamepass version, restarting, changing graphics settings doesn't seem to work. Currently on 2/5 after roughly 500 shield throws lol

i cant do it. i throw the shield for 1 hour but its count just 1 out of 5

i had the same issue.
you can deactivate the tutorials in the main menu, just deactivate it for that part then you can walk by.
