Not buying until Denuvo is gone
And on a deep sales. Can't really see myself pay like double the suggested price and then have to ask permission to play the game I paid for.:sadkitty:

My advice for everyone is to behave well and not getting yourself into derailed conversations or this thread will be nuked like the previous one.

I can't really give you an example because a link to that thread is also enough for this one to be nuked.

Oh man - speaking of "nuking" and "behaving well," how do you think things are going with the whole Iran talks right now?
Denuvo is not a problem for a looooong time.

I wish this is true so I don't have to be vocal about it anymore, which it's unfortunately not.
It still introduce the same issue it had 12 years ago, the different is....they don't even want to mention their name(or how it's work for that matter) in any of the error messages since around 2017 or so.
No way! I like Denuvo, it prevents hackers from stealing my game! :cozykcdknight:

There is really no need to keep making topics like these.

You don’t like denuvo, okay, don’t buy it and move on. There is no need to announce you aren’t going to be buying it.

It won’t change anything.

Won't it? Looks like it works just fine, actually. Id just isn't a very reactive company.
Following 24 hours of Denuvo-based backlash, Inzoi is taking a surprising step and removing it entirely: 'We want to sincerely apologise for not aligning more closely with player expectations'

Amid the ongoing Denuvo DRM controversy, Starbreeze Studio has just revealed that Payday 3 will no longer release with the anti-tampering software.[www.pcgamesn.com]

Interestingly enough, the top seller for any given year on Steam has consistently been a DRM-free title: Baldur's Gate 3, Palworld, Elden Ring (not DRM-free but no Denuvo there), Valheim, Hollow Knight, Hades, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077...

Denuvo users are a tiny minority of companies with a long history of anti-consumer practices. In last year's Steam top 100 best sellers, DRM-free games outnumbered games with Denuvo three to one.

Bonus fact: According to the numbers from VGI, Baldur's Gate 3 - a notoriously DRM-free game and 2023's top seller - generated as much revenue in 2023 alone than the five next games with Denuvo combined. (Source: VGI[imgur.com])

Just trying to figure out which is the "cause" and "effect!" 🤣🤣🤣

Also, speaking of Copypasta, there's a new documentary on Marcela Hazan out. Seems really interesting!

Show me some accurate piracy data and we might be able to have a discussion but until then, the data says nothing about Denuvo. To be clear, that a particular game doesn't use it and sells well is not in any way an argument for or against DRM.

For someone so invested in banging a particular drum, I'll assume that you've not myopically locked yourself into an echo chamber and have indeed looked at all sides of this question.

I'll await the data.

I doubt this is a game that will ever release without Denuvo.
I doubt it will ever be on GOG.

Wukong is still not sold anywhere without Denuvo.
Steam and Epic but not GOG.

He has been posting the same debunked information everywhere, time and time again.

He is too consumed by his hate for denuvo to realise he is wrong often.

Steam and Epic but not GOG.

Every single id game ever released with Denuvo has had it removed
post launch. TDA will be no different.

He can't actually do this, and will push back by claiming "Denuvo doesnt help sales." I call the sales argument the "swamp of unknowable stupid" because its where this argument against.... and for... Denuvo lives.

That piracy exists, and that paying customers like you and I get to stand by and watch as people like the guy I posted earlier in this thread walk out the door with the same products we're paying for with virtually no consequence to them... when they even admit they could have paid despite convenient excuses....

well it just makes Denuvo also feel like a convenient excuse, even if its not.
