Don't love the devs brushing off of multiplayer
I for one loved the Doom multiplayer from a few years ago. The levels, pace, sounds, mechanics, weapons, cosmetics, loved it all. Turning into demons was fun and could be a comeback mechanic. The weak multiplayer in Eternal flopped unsurprisingly (who cares about 1v2 pve for a multiplayer, it was dead on arrival). Now it seems like they are just moving off of multiplayer for the foreseeable future based on the flop from Eternal.

'Devoting more time to single player experience' just doesn't sound good and doesn't take the fans into consideration. Looking around the board it is clear to see the fans do in fact want some other type of mode besides single player. I will no doubt buy this because I have had every Doom, but don't like the path it is on. Wish they kept multiplayer and switched up the rock paper scissor weapon/demon interactions .

Nah, ditch that multiplayer and spending more time with the single player was the way to go. There's always a glut of online shooters competing for space in peoples minds, and Doom would never have competed in that arena.
A doom multiplayer can work. But imo a free to play stand alone multiplayer doom game is a better direction for it.

It's not the 90s and 2000s anymore and there are lots of free to play multiplayer shooter games that Doom multiplayer has to compete against.

Doom 2016 multiplayer ended up riddled with cheaters - it was a good mode when cheater-free though.

People freaked out at the idea of anti-cheat being added to Eternal - possibly one of the reasons the devs dropped the interesting-sounding Invasion mode.

People would freak out at the idea of anti-cheat in Doom TDA multiplayer if there was to be such a mode. I think multiplayer in Doom games is now just more trouble than it's worth for the devs.

Anti-Cheat software is fine, so long as it's implemented server side, and not as a form of software that requires a kernel level install.
Information I have seen mentions 22 missions with 20 hours of gameplay. This doesn't include achievements and replays but still if this is true it is underwhelming.
Personally I would rather they at least add co-op if they're not gonna do any PvP-related content anymore. Even if it's just wider maps made to account for the extra players (and more enemies if they don't just make them tankier instead) it would still be interesting to have 4 people just going around fighting entire armies like the old games.

22 levels is twice as much as Eternal. Regardless of length - if the game feels as good to play as Eternal then I expect to get another 800 hours out of it.

.
And i myself are so happy the ditched that crap. Made Doom look like some child toy nonsense. Don't know what the devs even think when they made BattleMode. Was crap and no wonder it died so fast.
