DOOM: The Dark Ages

DOOM: The Dark Ages

Performance concerns on 4K.
As we already know, even though DOOM games are well optimised, but Ray Tracing is going to be part of the core game graphics, which makes me wonder whether my new RX 9070 XT will keep up with the demand on 4K(even the equivalent 5070TI).
So Ray Tracing is slowly becoming a standard like Avatar, Indiana Jones and probably Doom Dark Ages is going to join that club.

It makes me wonder whether I should have saved more for at least a 5080 or even save for the 5090, even though the 12vhpwr connector is not 100% safe.
Or on the other hand downgrade from 4K OLED to 1440P.

I think itll be okay for you. Personally? I never use RT or 4k. I believe in 1440p supremacy. I have a good rig too haha
1st 5090 cost 3500-4500$ on market so you might as well buy a new pc with 5090
2nd you dont know how it actually gonna run yet
Do not worry, im on 7900xtx 24gb vram, and it handles the ray tracing ♥♥♥♥ very well, in newest games too, be it Assassin Creed Shadows or Indiana Jones , not to mention older titles like Cyberpunk etc.

Try the game out first, then make decision based after that.
It's not standard. You can count on fingers how many of them are there. It's only from specific AAA developers, not even the everyone, let alone AA or others.

Stop with that "becoming standard" fear
Honestly, stick to 2K with no RT.

RT causes some ghosting and is generally extremely demanding.

However, you are free to try. DOOM games are generally very well optimized. Even DOOM Eternal runs amazing for me at 2K with RT.

There is no "no RT" this time around.

It doesn't.

It can not be turned off. It's baked into the visuals and is also used for hit detection.
Indiana Jones had RT and ran like a dream
