“Doom: The Dark Ages' melee-heavy, parry-focused gameplay was nothing like I expected, and now I'm more eager to play the full thing than ever”

“DOOM: THE DARK AGES’ FEELS LIKE AN XBOX 360 SHOOTER — IN A BAD WAY

Generic in visuals and tone, Bethesda's medieval prequel slows down the action and confusingly strips the game of everything that makes modern Doom great“

Excerpt:

“Doom: The Dark Ages feels like two steps back for the series that had previously carved its own lane in the modern shooter landscape. Its mechanics feel ripped from the mid-2000's, picking up dated ideas that feel out of place, while jettisoning the best aspects of its direct predecessors.”
I can see id pushing the release date by a good few months. There’s a pattern throughout all the hands-on articles and videos.

I've been pretty leery of the "slowed down action" selling point Hugo has been discussing. We'll see - I think Doom needs to be fast.
Every single article here is from media that I dont trust to tell me the quality of spit.

Independent voices with no finances tied to their articles are the best, Skill Up for example.

From the Skill Up video:

@10:58: “You definitely spend a lot less time pulling the trigger in this game than you did in 2016 or Eternal…”

About the dragon gameplay:

@15:05: “It just doesn’t work very well to be honest with you.”

tbh i am a bit worried about dragon/mech part, i hope its not going to be a slog to replay like the MJ/morales part in recent spiderman games
i hope its going to be very short, and not too much "on rail"...

Who cares about reviews specially paid ones lol I like my own judgement about any game not gonna read any of them google reviews lol
Standing and trading blows with demons just doesn't look that interesting. Eternal's fun came from the required situational awareness and need to plan your movements to stay safe. That seems to be seriously toned down when you just stand in one spot and absorb blows like nobody's business.

with this bullsh*t argument i can say in eternal you can dash the whole game and avoid every damage, yeah its a stupid argument, but so is you're
the shield dont have infinite use, its a stamina bar, you will still need to dodge the attacks as much as you can, depending on the difficulty
Irrational levels of anger elicited from an opinion.. Yep, it's the Doom forum alright. Your communicative abilities are appalling.
