Gameplay seems focused on the shield so you can expect it gaining more attention.
The glowing green projectile that is 'parryable' looks very contrived and hand-holdy.
Perhaps a system where one needs to be more or less precisely at a right angle to the projectile or at an angle where the projectile would reflect directly back to the source (like playing billiards) would be better, but you'll have people whinging about the vagaries.
you have several way to stun enemies, including parry, and when they are stun, they become weak to mele damage and drop ressource
its basicaly glory kill 2.0
i dont understand how people would not like that after liking eternal, its the same gameloop, you open the wound with weapon and finish in mele, its very similar
Actual shield and deflecting just seem to be an evolution of that, except the Slayer is like an abram's tank instead of a fighter jet and thus is more defensive. And you have to weave between projectiles that can't be deflected with horizontal movement, so there is a level of precision and timing needed.
