there was a major performance hit with raytracing when it final got into the game though
You're so confidently wrong that it is almost funny. Denuvo DRM was already there at launch when Eternal released. It was denuvo ANTI-CHEAT that was added afterwards in update 1 and was promptly removed after backlash over it being kernal level. The DRM stayed in the game though from 2020-2023.
Once the DRM was removed from Eternal there was a 0% performance gain, just like what happened when it was removed from 2016. If you don't agree then prove otherwise by doing exactly what you told us to do: search the internet.
You don't even know what you are talking about, Bethesda added Denuvo Anti-Cheat after the game came out for the Battlemode and then took it out pretty quick because people got mad it was added after they bought the game, it had nothing to do with performance. Denuvo DRM was part of Doom Eternal for years, it only got removed a year ago. And no one noticed anything with performance when that happened.
Ok, prove me wrong then.
