There is no option to reduce gore that I know of. There is some truth to what they're saying though, this probably isn't the game for you if gore freaks you out. It's always been a big part of Doom.

Maybe someday in the future someone will find a config tweak to reduce it, but even then the environments are covered in it, especially in Hell.

I just think that the gore in this game is boring. It was more funny in the other two.

Brother, no one is being mean on purpose. But the reality of the situation is the entire doom community likes the gore. There were whole levels made of gore in the other games. there are levels made of reanimated human flesh in every single doom game. It's kind of the draw with these edgelord fantasies.

That being said to be more wholesome and give you some solace. There are usually modders and modding communities that either figure out how to mod the game themselves or with help form the devs like in eternal. But that usually comes after years of the game being out. And it's not always garunuteed.

Someone can say "This isn't the game for you." and that isn't being a jerk. It is just direct and honest. Just because you don't like the answer, that doesn't mean it is rude.

Not all games are meant for everyone. Gore has been part of Doom since its inception back in the 90s. The odds of the developer adding or including a low gore mode is highly unlikely.
