The thinking man's DOOM game
After the Call of Duty twitch-style shooter that was Eternal, it's nice to shift to a better paced and more thoughtful type of gameplay.

The Dark Ages is truly the Sekiro of the franchise. And just like the actual Sekiro, it is gonna be a brick wall for many who thought they were good. You can see a lot of Eternal fans don't like it already.

Truly the strategist's DOOM game, this game is for advanced thinkers. The devs said it themselves: in this DOOM game, you are a tank. Not a fighter jet. You have to make important strategic decisions but you can stand your ground and make ♥♥♥♥ blow up when necessary.

I know a lot of Eternal fans won't like it because they were expecting faster gameplay with Super Mario Bros jumping around and a more rigid combat formula. But I implore them to try to make the transition.

Top shelf game, good job id.

A lot of eternal fans are doom fans. This games pretty cool, but I don't see how there is much to think about. The difficulty in this game is alot lower than the last 2 in the series. Need ammo? hit the guy, need health? hit the guy, need armor? hit the guy

Exceptionally funny comment when almost all of the criticism I've seen has said that the game is too *easy* compared to Eternal.
Did you just compare Eternal to Call of Duty? Lol wut.

I think it will be a tough adjustment for many Eternal fans but if they stick with it then they will manage.
what the actual F did I just read lmao...sekiro and cod comparisons, then you call it "a thinking man's game"???

And for the record, this game is NOT HARD. If there's anything to adjust to, it's the fact that it's so much easier at the same difficulty setting. The secrets are even exponentially easier.

And COD is probably the pinnacle of gaming trash. I'm enjoying this game after adjusting the difficulty, but it's mindless and has nothing in common with either of those. You don't even have to think about which upgrades to take because you can literally get them all. Plus everything is marked on the map. Zero thought whatsoever.

the "thinking" of using 1 weapon just like 2016 mixed with melee and parry

It's okay to have a favorite weapon.
yea I could just go to an arcade 20 years ago and play dance dance revolution and have the same gaming experience.

Now that's usin' your thinker!

Thinking man's Doom? I bet it's just one long hallway until you reach the end, and all the entertainment you get is from visually impressive ways to kill demons, not that the game is actually worth playing more than once.

I like to add that is is quite a bit easier than eternal. so far I have found every secret on every level I played. I do miss the challenges in eternal where you had to find the key and beat it. was hoping for something that in this game. But I am quite enjoying the story and the game.
