Soundtrack in this game is really SUCKS
I don’t usually make posts like this, but after playing for a while, I have to say it. The music in this game just doesn’t hit the mark. Compared to Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal, everything here feels flat and lifeless.

I’m not even some diehard Mick Gordon fan, but in the previous games, the music had serious energy. It made the fights feel intense, emotional, and just cool as hell. You could feel the respect for the original Doom in every track. It wasn’t just background noise, it was part of the experience.

Now? From the main menu, the soundtrack already feels generic and forgettable. Nothing stands out. You can kinda hear some faint nods to classic Doom tracks, but they’re so watered down they’re barely noticeable. Remember the main themes in Doom 2016 and Eternal? You could clearly hear those classic riffs blended into something modern and powerful.

And during combat? The music does nothing. It’s weak, uninspired, sometimes even way too calm, it kills the momentum and totally ruins what should be badass encounters.

Honestly, ID Software should’ve worked things out with Mick Gordon. Say what you want, but without him, the music just isn’t the same, and for a Doom game, that’s a huge deal.

Yea, I heard some of the tracks of Doom Dark Ages and I think they are extremely generic and not only that, but the dragon segments are lame as hell with its goofy af dodging and shooting, ♥♥♥♥ looks like its turn based. The gameplay of the doom guy is also whack.

The blocking is seriously repetitive, most of the time you are blocking/parrying some goofy looking green projectiles. The weapon design looks lame. The only good one is the chainshot. No dashing, no double jump, I feel so limited.

Also the maps are just too big and so many cutscenes. The fk are they doing in a doom game? Eternal was already about to cross the line but this is just another attempt to turn a beloved franchise into some movie game slop. STOP TRYING TO BE HOLLYWOOD, FFS.

I typically play with music off in games. This will be no different.

The soundtrack is good IMO. Sounds amazing on a good sound system but the mix in-game is quite bad.

Its so bad, half the time it doesnt even sound like its on (it is, its just really bad).

I jumped into an arena full of monster, thinking yeah now the sound track is gonna pop and gonna be awesome, yet nothing. I cleaned out the whole arena and the music never even registered. I do hope they have a bug or something cause its a massive downgrade

I completely agree with you. Whether it’s a bug or a design choice, it really takes away from the experience. The music used to be a huge part of what made DOOM feel so intense and without it, the combat just doesn’t hit the same

It doesn't suck, but they certainly don't hit like micks did.

opinions vary, I like music in this doom!
The music in this game is so generic, that when it glitched out and stopped playing, I didn't care to restart the game, and continued to complete a level for another half hour.

really? in youtube is the entire ost of this game, and personally after listening to every track, this is way better than 2016 and base Eternal combined

Listened to the OST on YouTube. The music is objectively not bad. Mick Gordon was more creative/experimental. This is more catchy. Some people will like D2016/Eternal's soundtrack more. Some people will like this soundtrack more. I know a lot of people on here will disagree, but I would argue that a video game soundtrack can be good even if it wasn't written by Mick Gordon (see, e.g., Andrew Hulshult's work)

completely agreed. I have music volume on 100 and sfx on 55 and I still don't hear anything ffs

Soundtrack in this game sounds like someone handed a music major a Mick Gordon track and said "make it like this but chunkier". Like the person who made the music is just copying a style and doesn't actually play this genre of music normally.

Really sucks that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Marty Stratton burned that bridge.

By far the worst soundtrack of any Doom game... it's embarrassing frankly. The technical design of it is also terrible. The tracks will go from blaring in your ear to dead silent, with little to no transition. What were they thinking?

I like the Unholy Siege, Infernal Chasm, and nothing else. You know Mick Gordon isn't involved in the development of the soundtracks for this game; that's why.
