Doom eternal - 9/10
Doom TDA - 7/10
Doom TDA mission continuity is honestly terrible. There are a few missions that give zero explanation of how you even arrived. The developers 100% cut out story bits due to rewrites. There is also a severe lacking of legitimate boss fights.
2016 was nice but was rather short. Good solid story with amazing boss fights.
Eternal was definitely the best campaign. Every mission led to the next with excellent continuity. The DLC made it even better. The boss fights fights were also pretty good.
That the series is on a declining path.
Not a good direction at all in generel.
I get it that iD wants to experiment with their creative freedom and make highly out of the box type of games with the Doom title slapped on it. But most Doom fans just want to have a good OLD Doom experience.
Machinegames did a much better job with revitalizing the Wolfenstein franchise in a more Wolfensteinish way than iD is doing right now. (Okay we don't speak about Youngblood. That one was horrible)
