Yes people are that cheap. There are other factors as well, but price is a rather large one.
The lack of MP/COOP, very high base price, RT mandatory GPU is the fault.
If they released at 60 $ base, have MP/COOP and being able to play on GPUS that are not hardware RT capable game would have fared better.
Exp. 33 cost only 50€.
Games like DOOM, Battlefield, Halo have shorter campaigns. They usually supply some form of Multiplayer to compensate for this to justify the full price of AAA.
- Knows exactly what is a valid counter-argument
- Instantly disregards the valid counter argument
- Thinks now hi won the argument.
Also, in the EU the game costs €80 which is $90.
Which is too high for a game that (once you know where you go and all) can be finished in barely 9 hours.
1.Forced ray tracing
2.Game pass
3.Price
4.Gameplay is very different that can drive away some people.(When I watched the first trailer, I was like "wait, is this Doom ? Why the game isn't sci fi anymore ? Why you have a shield ?")
5.Competition from other games.
6.Some stability issues that prevent some people from booting the game despite having a capable hardware.
7.No multiplayer and other extra game modes.
Naw Eternal was going strong for years bruv, you just stopped playing.
Also Death match was pioneered by DooM and MP has always been a key element to every game. Even dom 3 had multiplayer.. I believe this is the first major DooM release without it.
Nothing more nothing less, its a 7/10 im not regretting buying it, but i think 80€ is to much for the Product you get.
Especially with the complete lack of PC optimization by BruteForcing that god aweful RTGI and Dithering for Volumetrics, looks and runs just not good.
