I just want more doom 2016!

I don't want this new age doom that it feels like it needs to add some dumb mechanic every game for the sake of adding it. I don't want eternal's platform/execution gameplay, I don't want this dodged the bullets and reflect bs bullet hell wanna be game, and sure as hell don't want the next one to turn in to a full melee beat'em up for some reason.

make doom in to what it's best at! amazing map design with exciting run and gun gameplay. enemies that are just fast enough to surprise you, but also slow enough for you to dodged if you are on your game. the excitement of 50 enemies just popping up on screen and you have to kill each one the old fashioned way, by blowing their heads off with your arsenal that all feel good to use.

to end the rant, I feel like this isn't a bad game. it just doesn't feel like doom. it feels like I am playing a gimmick in a game that's lost it's way. doom 2016 brought back the feeling of the original doom. I was hoping they would build up on that, but this really isn't it. both eternal and dark ages feels off. fun? sometimes, but never to the greatness of original dooms and 2016.

I've played doom 2016, A LOT. for many years. is it wrong for me to want more for from the newer dooms than just worse copies of other games? the bullet hell/reflect mechanic is just bad. everything is horribly easy to dodge or reflect. even worse, just block. all the excitement is just wiped out because of the poor execution of the mechanics. and mech/dragon levels? what were they even thinking?

I think it'd be more than possible to recapture the same magic and do it again, but they have no interest in pumping out the same game over and over again.

I've played doom and doom 2 over just a few months ago. it's every bit as good as it was in the 90s. I agree somethings are just nostalgia, but somethings are also just great. doom 2 had some of the best level designs of any fps shooter campaign.
