One question about enemies
Are there enemies who can only be killed by one weapon, or one specific tactic, and are invincible to every other attack? Like those enemies in Eternal.

I have seen this complaint a few times and I just don't get it. Like, for example, with the shield bros. "See shield, use plasma" You reaaaallly don't have to. You can drop a frag, shotgun nade or launch a rocket behind them, chainsaw them, blood punch them, both 1 ballista mod 1 shots them(1 you aim at them, the other you aim next to them), you can freeze them, there's mancubus GK explosions, barrels, meathook and shot, you can just dash behind them and use any weapon/mod you want.. There really isn't 1 best way to kill them or any demon. The best way to kill a demon always depends on your situation.
No enemy in Eternal works that way except spirits, and even then they vanish if you leave them for last.

What about those imps in the DLC that could only be hit with one weapon or they'd just turn to stone?

Either way I'm still wondering if there's similar enemies in this game.

DA GAME SAID THAT YOU MUST KILL ENEMY 1 WITH WEAPON 1, SO I WILL DO IT THIS WAY

No disrespect, sincerely, but I don't think I'm talking about the enemies you're talking about. I understand that most of the basic enemies had strengths and weaknesses that were not mandatory to exploit a certain way. I do remember, especially in the dlc, there were enemies that could only be dispatched using one technique. I think it was the spirit and the stone imps specifically. I personally didn't like that, so before I drop a ton of money on this new game I just want to know if they do the same thing again.

I'm really not trying to mock anybody else's enjoyment with this game, or make any kind of point with my question. I'm not going to demand that they change the game to suit me. If people want to judge me, okay whatever, but I'm trying to get the information needed to decide whether I want to play this or not. It's a pretty straightforward question. I ask if someone can just let me know, and I can see myself out.

You can kill stone imps with any weapon, it’s just going to take longer than expected. You can kill them efficiently, apart from Full Auto, with the hammer, chainsaw and Destroyer Blade (Ballista alt-fire).

It’s kinda hard to answer your question because you exaggerate so much. For example, in TDA there are enemies which you are really supposed to party. Does that count as “killing them with one weapon”? Or “forcing you to fight them a certain way”, perhaps? There are still blue shield guys, but now you can throw your shield to make them explode.

I understand you. arachnotron you could technically kill it how ever you want. But you could also empty every gun you had on it except the bfg and not kill it that ruined eternal for me and is one of the reasons i AM enjoying the dark ages. So far i have found 1 enemy that is more like a kind of mini boss that requires parrying to do decent damage to it. everything else armoured demons/leaders you can saw shield to stun and shotgun to the face or what ever you like.

Thank you, I appreciate this response.

I didn't intend to exaggerate, I don't know if the game got updated since the time I played it and now, but the memory I have is that those Stone imps could only be killed with one weapon (I think I knew you could kill them with the chainsaw but I think you can kill just about anything except for bosses with the chainsaw, and that's not really an effective use of that weapon). I could be wrong, I just remember they were more irritating than fun in my personal opinion.

For the parrying enemies, as long as you can still shoot them to death then that counts as having more than one way to kill them. Like parrying might be the best way to kill them, but they'll still take damage from other attacks. The impression I'm getting from your response is that this game does not have the problem that bothered me in eternal.

Great, thank you for this information. That sounds kind of in line with what I was hoping for.

There are best practice weapons for removing armor quickly but if you really want to it's still totally viable to brute force armor off with plasma guns. It's not required but you inconvenience yourself. Or certain melee styles also quickly remove armor or a shield toss upgrade trivializes plasma shield holders. Basically there's more than one way to skin a cat in this version.

Every enemy can be killed by any weapon.
I still remember being dumbstruck, paralysed even when i found out that the arachnotron can be parried.

Stone Imps can also be killed in groups by a single Hammer strike. You can also chainsaw them. Way more efficient than Full Auto, but yeah, if you are out of Hammer you better equip Full Auto, or your game just turns to double Nightmare :)

What the actual hell are you talking about? Like, did you not actually play the game, because that's not how it works at all.
