cacodemons are so boring and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
something thats not bait in this endless sea of bait that is the steam forums

bruh cacodemons are so bad in this game. they were so much better in doom 2016 and eternal. now they are so boring to fight against. none of their purple attacks are parriable, so rarely can you interrupt them. even if you do interrupt them, the rest of their purple walls are not interrupted?? for some reason?? that has to be an oversight.

on top of that it seems like they don't know when they want to use their ONLY SINGLE parriable attack and it gets me by surprise. that's like, the only single interesting thing about fighting these things. other than that you can't even do anything with them. nothing fun at least. they don't even move around, they don't strafe, or anything like that.

and their melee is both unparriable and they SPAM that ♥♥♥♥ like i won't kill them in the next 5 seconds. forcing me to run away??? that's so anti-doom. and with the fact that they barely get faltered? huh? how am i supposed to fight this thing if not in the most boring way imaginable?

and by boring i mean simply shooting and strafing and running away. because thats the only thing these guys make you do. the vast majority of the roster of demons have you doing cool stuff in order to kill them. you can still keep pushing forward against a mancubus or a hell knight even though the parries knock you back, and the melee system is perfect for that. but cacodemons are boring at range and at melee.

it's not even that they're hard! maybe on nightmare (i'm still learning the game, HMP was easy and so is UV right now), but that doesn't necessarily make them more fun to fight. they are just so. meh.

yeah theyre decent, but you pretty much CANNOT melee them. like you can, but very unreliably. theyre practically the only enemy that makes you run away for a time, which is 100% against how modern doom usually is. whatever, at least they arent very common
idk I enjoy throwing my shield into them then hitting them with the chainshot :HappyPCGuest:

bro my shield hardly ever sticks into them. no matter if i aim at their mouths or brains it just never works.
They're annoying as hell, no doubt about that. I especially hate how their wide/tall energy waves they shoot out block your projectiles... and so you have to sit there and wait for an opening to finally appear before you can even damage them.

Agreed. I always tried to kill them ASAP.

Only other person I've seen pointing this out, I literally cannot get 100% because spire keeps softlocking me.
