I did play it for 1.9 hours but is not better than Doom Eternal or Doom 2016.

Matter of opinion I'd rate it much better than doom eternal which I never finished because I didn't think much of the game play.

I'd rate it on a level with Doom 2016 though I preferred doom 2016 story.
My suggestion would always be to play the proper Doom games if you haven't already, whether you play this or not. Everybody who loves FPS should do a full classic Doom odyssey at least once. At least the mainline PC games up to 3, the console versions if interested. The 2016 reboot is worthy of a play, too

This game is excellent as well, so maybe add it to the list when your Doom education is done.

OP is special

He is a special kid with special needs

So plz dont get offended by his demands not to buy the game.

I knew it was going to be the way it was and that reviews would show that. Loved and grew up with Doom having played every title up to Eternal but with latest I was like, naw. Just not interested. All I will say and for those enjoying glad you are.

The devs essentially said that's what they're going for with this game while Eternal was inspired by Devil May Cry.

Of course eternal is not for everyone, but what is DOOM TDA trying to be a Dark souls FPS. You barely use your guns in this game. They should of came back to DOOM 2016 gameplay style. There is no improvements here and it is way too ez.

As someone who loves and still occasionally plays through the original games, I enjoy this.

Modern Doom isn't the same as Classic Doom for sure.

At the moment I'm enjoying it too much to really assess it coldly vs the other games, so I'll ruminate on that one a bit. but my impression of the game right now is very positive.
