I played Quake 3 in money tournaments, yeah, I would say my opinion is pretty expert. I started in multiplayer on DOOM modem to modem and Dwango and I have fragged every member of id software in Quake 1. What about you?
Oh, I have work published in multiple commercial Doom and Quake products back in the day too, even though they stole it off the internet.
Why do you think I don't have this game?
I genuinely do not believe people think this game is slower than 2016
Additionally yes i play a fair share of fast paced games i've been hooked on titanfall 2 recently and i play ace combat 7 as well as project wingman
For the record, i do not own eternal anymore as i played it through a buddy's family share
Sounds like something someone who likes slow games but is embarrassed about it would say
It was "hard games for people who like easy games."
Now its "fast games for people who like slow games."
The last person who told me that Souls games weren't hard also completed Dark Souls III at level 300
fwiw I don't think they're that hard. No single player game is really hard at all compared to multiplayer, unless it's self-exercise like racing or complex puzzle/strategy games.
But Doom Eternal was way, way faster and harder than any of the old Doom or Quake games (in single player) that's my point
Hardcore fans of id software like me wanted the series to keep getting more hardcore, even as I get older.
I always point out that Portal 1 had puzzles where you had to turn more than 90 degrees in mid air, and Portal 2 does not. Portal 2 got way more praise and was an inferior game.
I generally agree, though I still think your friend at level 300 made a sound case lol. DS games are so scalable and there are so many things you can do to make them "not hard," like get bosses to kill themselves, etc.
I dont think any of the NuDoom games are really hard at all on Nightmare. But how fast they are - at least relative to each other - is definitely a topic.
