Is anyone else getting tired of Doom, in general?
Doom 2016: Loved it. I was never a big fan of doom but I had played multiple wads, conversions and the base games multiple times. I liked how it tried to mix in Doom 3 a bit. Whilst also making sure story wasn't a big focus. The gameplay and environments were okay, just a standard FPS.

Doom Eternal: The big one. It's a complete see-saw in terms of if you like it or not. Personally a bigger fan of Ultrakill. But I still loved it. It started a lot of modern trends we now see in games today. It took the arcade approach and ditched the realistic approach. But what confused me was the story focus. Jesus, a lot of Reddit Cringe tbh. It just felt like such an enthusiastic approach towards it but nobody really cared or wanted to. The whole Doomguy = Slayer was super cringy as well. Doom guy should have stayed Doom guy and this should've been some alternate universe thing. The gameplay was very fun, albeit boring since all of the demon's did the exact same thing. Or atleast, pretty damn close. The OST is the most overrated soundtrack, period. It's very mid, as the younglings like to call it. It's just not my style at all. I even muted it when I played.

Doom: The Dark Ages: The gameplay pulled back a bit and now you can interact with the game more through interactive glory kills and punch mechanics. The parrying is nice but it's very easy and slow. It's not a big deal, but still there. As well the entire game going SUPER hard on the story. Can't stand it. Really boring action superhero stuff. Skipped eventually everything. Their are a ton of excess weapons that don't really serve a function. Should've focused more on the 6 or so core weapons and expanded on that. Their are also mech's and dragons now...I guess. I don't know how to feel about it. It's cool to break it up but it's also not really indepth and somewhat boring eventually as the game dragons itself on and on. 22 chapters are a TON for an action game. Should've cut the fat and trimmed it.

What's next? Doom Rebirth? Doom 8? What could be done now? The burnout has REALLY hit now similar to the Yakuza Series. I really hope no more doom games come now. It's getting generic and stale. Similar to Ubisoft and other slop! Am I the only one experiencing this?

I was talking about the series in general. Not just this game.
They don't need to rape the IP..I agree with that

There's no hitch to it..2016 to Eternal was kindve an evolution but Eternal to TDS feels like a step back and to the side. They removed master levels, charged more, removed the level builder, ect..they just made it for the sake of selling Doom and probably to sell DLC that should've been in a 70 dollar game

It seems fun, but they could've easily made a new IP. Just wait a couple more generations and make Eternal 2 with much bigger maps and the same toaster performance...

But this is MS trying to bring money to Gamepass...F2P games where half the game is then split up and sold separately and only to be used on GP after you got the sub

Still believe this game was supposed to be Quake or Hexen remake or something. Glad to see someone else who agrees. It's just not as exciting as Doom Eternal.
No, not even close. I do still think it would be wise for id to take a ~10 year break from the franchise after this game though, if only because this makes the third Doom in a row and they've already covered such a vast array of settings and gameplay styles.

Eternal was amazing...I grabbed it on sale not knowing the depth...

I still think MS gave us a skeleton of a game to sell DLC on Gamepass...MS is playing their platform extremely smart RN...

What else could they do? They've already got sequels prequels and ♥♥♥♥. It's time for a big break.

Yeah, there aren't many options left. I think it's the perfect time for id to try and forge a new path with a brand new IP--and hopefully one that's far more interesting and successful than Rage. A third-person game would be great IMO.

This game demonstrated that a Quake game is long overdue.

if i was tired and bored of a game, I would go play a game that I enjoyed rather than whining on a message board that I am tired and bored of the game that I am tired and bored of.

it's like you people don't understand how to have fun or enjoy anything.

Yeah, rage flopped. Very boring little game that actually had some interesting ideas. I just don't know what else they could do? Maybe an action game? Imagine the mecha and Dragon gameplay ideas but as a TPA!

Missed the point, but I don't think you want a conversation.

And what was that point that I talked about already? I truly do think you missed my point unless you can explain.
