Your ears are broken if you think this OST is anywhere near as good as 2016 or Eternal. In fact, I don't even know how you can tell, because most of the time, I can barely hear the music.
Even adjusting the levels in the menu doesn't change the fact that it's a limp, soggy, and ineffectual facsimile of Mick Gordon's work. It also doesn't react to gameplay anymore, which was such a cool and unique addition in 2016 that's now just gone.
In no category does this soundtrack manage to outdo or even approach the heights of what came before, modern or classic DOOM.
2016 I remember BFG Division. In Eternal I remember The Only Thing They Fear is You.
Dark Ages music lacks a personality I suppose. But it certainly isn't bad.
Err, yes it does. It clearly changes when battles kick off as well as once they're finished, which makes your "your ears are broken" comment rather ironic.
I can understand how this to some people can be better, but in opposite to Eternal I don't think I will listen to Dark Ages soundtrack in a standalone way.
If I share opinion that is unpopular it doesn't mean I am ragebaiting.
And in general all the sound in TDA is garbage. I don't know who did sound mixing in the game, but it feels like he's deaf.
UPD: When I played in Eternal I wasn't impressed with the music from Mick Gordon. It's like, well, music and music. But compared to TDA... It's just a disaster, Mick Gordon's a unreal genius.
Delusional patterns of thinking: Someones opinion could never mismatch opinion of majority. If mismatch happens - it's a rage bait.
I really like Dark Ages soundtrack and don't care about Mick Gordon's absence at all.
