The problems in gaming 2025
1. Unrealistic Prices
AAA games now often cost over $70, far above the traditional $60 mark. While rising development costs are cited, many players feel the price hikes aren't justified by the actual gameplay experience.

2. DEI Fatigue
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has become a major focus in games. While intended to promote inclusivity, critics argue it often feels forced or politically motivated, sparking backlash and diminishing immersion for some players.

These two issues rising prices and polarizing DEI implementation are increasingly seen as "studio killers," driving away both loyal players and sustainable revenue, and contributing to recent waves of layoffs and studio closures.

The problem? Greed. Relentless, uncontrolled greed. The corporations never have enough. So fck the corporations. Vote with your wallet, and let them crash and burn. I will be enjoying the flames.

For the first one, the cited issue of the game play not being worth the price isn't really related to a price increase. Players can say a game isn't worth $70, but I doubt that at $60 (previous standard) it magically becomes worthwhile when game play is the cited reason. Because that price difference just isn't that large. It would be more likely in comparing $40-50 with $70-80.

It also should be noted that regardless of the quality of the game or its game play that the increased cost of development would still exist. So the need to increase the price would still exist. That is totally separate from what the player considers value.

Tbh...?

I have seen nothing more greedy then "Gamers".

Game Prices haevnt changed in decades, despite inflation.
You keep buying 20yo remasters for 55$ ....

we will keep making it....

with a FULL game price on a reheated trash... mind you.

what comes around goes around ..... gamer.

BUT..... the funny part is, you as gamers are in a circle jerk with no way out. Other then going outside and gettng a life. Which you wont do.

Yep. I'd also add anti consumer DRM is a deterrent for some. I would have given the game a try if it didn't have Denuvo.
One more problem gamers have become whiny, entitled crybabies.

I hate propaganda in games but i dont see what doom has to do with DEI.
I dont care if they are connected to them, the result has nothing to do with DEI.

i think people being against anything in that way are as backwards as some of the furries and other weird people in this thread which label everyone a racist and sexist who doesnt like propaganda in their games

basically everyone nowadays is an extremist, and then they wonder why the world starts to go down, humanity is so stupid

my question to y'all of you is...

How many games do you even buy x year?

because i've saw a lot of people with +200 game here on steam alone, and in GOG, and on Epic, and even other platforms, like EA launcher for example

how many of those games do y'all actually play? and why not all of them?

The biggest probem is forcing ray tracing slop on us, along with forced ai upscaling slop and frame gen slop, playing on subpar resolution and still getting subpar fps.
I mean i could never justify paying 700+ plus for whats considered midrange now even low to midrange by some people, and still not get above 60-70 fps on 1440p and having to use the ai upscaling slop... pc gaming is going to ♥♥♥♥ year on year, and its not helping that nvidia and amd are adopting really anti consumer practices and gimping their cards on purpose with lower core counts and vram, you have 70 class cards taht are really 60 class cards selling for absurd prices...
It aint getting better, maybe if the ai buble bursts but doubt it..

Just say you don't like black/brown people, gay people, and girl bosses.
Grow a pair.
You could have left girl bosses out of that sentence because I believe that’s the only thing there that nobody actually likes.
