There are some config changes you can make that allow games to use more VRAM than the Deck normally allows but even then the game can drop into single digit framerates on low settings with FSR on ultra performance and frame gen only makes it run worse.
From what I heard, even with beta builds for it, the performance is abyssal (about 15fps).
I would write off Dark Ages for the Steam Deck (I have one).
I can confirm that switching to preview build 3.7.6 as stated in this article resolves the issue with FSR:
