Did you ever find a solution?
I have 130+ fps at 4K with max settings, no frame gen. Not a single tear or stutter... because I use a gsync monitor. VRR is one of the best monitor features ever invented.
I thought the same thing for literally like 8 years, and then I realized that you have to restart the game after changing the setting. It won't do anything if you change it while in-game.
As far as I know, NVIDIA sets GSync at 120fps Max, even when my monitor can run up to 240hz.
