crazy how even the worst doom game (which isn't this) is still much better than the best in most series
and it's even crazier that the new games are all great for entirely different reasons

Tell me you haven't played doom 64, doom 3 or doom RPG without telling me you haven't played doom 64, doom 3 or doom RPG.

doom 64 and doom 3 are good, and doom RPG is a spinoff which isn't available anymore

I feel like they made the new enemy's more intimidating just look at the mancubas he looks bigger and why more terrifying in terms of looks and i won't lie his design is actually really cool. Yea they may not look the same as the other games but what are you gonna do.

it's extremely impressive that the games look and play differently but are all great, eternal is one of my favourite games ever and this game is completely different but it still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rules

It's mechanically a huge downgrade from Eternal. It's the call of duty of doom. You can finish this game playing only mostly one weapon. I don't mind new Gameplay but it just doesn't mesh well with the gameplay loop.
Big brain to give a weapon that destroy energy shields then going around and giving an immediate upgrade to your shield that bounces using an energy shield. Way to make a weapon redundant

it's going for different things than eternal, the challenge in it doesn't come from knowing which weapon to use (although I do switch a lot) it's from the bullet hell type gameplay the original doom games had, it's positional combat which doesn't feel like a straight upgrade from eternal but it's still great in it's own right, it plays like a better version of serious sam or painkiller. It's not doom eternal x20, if you want that play ultrakill

Which is a conflict of gameplay philosophy. You have all these tools to encouraging you to close the distance as often as possible because that's where all your pick ups is going to come from. It's half assed as a bullet hell type gameplay. Chainshot obliterates everything in this game in 1- 2 full charge. The game rewards you with health and shield upgrades but don't have enough tools to keep your shield and health at max. You're running most of the level not even maxed. You see why I say it's such a mechanical downgrade from Eternal with every facet of said gameplay has a meaning and serves its purpose? Even the enemies in that games was made specifically to have players aim a certain way. Whip demons is specifically slithering on the ground to make you lower your aim.

This is the worse Doom game by an absolute mile, Doom 64 and Doom 3 were brilliant.

Highly disagree, doom 3 while good is absolutely worse than the dark ages

Nope, Doom 3 is still the worst Doom. Dark Ages is the second worst Doom.

Hmmm. Let me rank them. #1 Doom Eternal/Doom 2016 (tied - both have different reasons for being great); #2 Doom the Dark Ages; #3 Doom 3 ( I still remember beating Doom 3, on my birthday, at a game store, with various people giving it a shot...it was fun, not amazing, but fun); #4 Doom 64? So long ago, I can't remember; #5 Doom - the original ( of course it was immensely influential, and fun, but it was hardly the most fun game around, Monkey Island games were more fun, for example )
