best difficulty settings?

having more fun that i thought i would and the game is surprizingly well optimized for my garbage pc,very solid 60 fps on nightmare video configs

but the difficulty is kinda weird,vanila nighmare is kinda boring but max nighmare is annoying,something in between is being pretty fun but needs further adjustment

kinda sucks that the players are doing all the balance this days but it is what it is
