Game Feels Weird
Not sure how to explain it, but it just doesn't feel like a DOOM game.

I'm still at the very early stages of the game (Literally, just started, so maybe it improves?) but right now, the finishers feel boring (Just a ♥♥♥♥♥ slap to the face) guns feel underwhelming and generally, it just feels like a DOOM clone, and not an actual DOOM game.

I wanted carnage, skull crushing fun, but instead what I'm getting is a dude just ♥♥♥♥♥ slapping his way through hordes of demons..

couldnt agree more, it doesnt feel like a doom game with the shield mechanics, Doom Guy never needed a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shield before why does he now? Move your ass out of the way is Doom Guys "Shield"

I haven't played much either, but glory kills are seriously lame in this title, no imagination, the music is meh and very sparse, the absence of Mick Gordon is very palpable.

the cutscenes are boring and really slow the game down

ill keep playing it, maybe its better in the second stage.
The further in you get, the more "proper" DOOM it gets, as the places you visit, becomes more sci-fi, like in the 2016 game.

That's a bummer man
I played until the 5 chapter as for now. It's very strange, and maybe it's because my RTX 3060 is struggling to keep a steady 60 fps, but the gameplay feels janky. Weapon swapping needs to happen fast but the wheel is unresponsive, enemy attacks can hit you while you are in the middle of a "glory kill" (just a punch) however as you're locked into the animation projectiles will move towards you and hit you just as you exit the animation. Parrying has a generous window even on nightmare with default sliders. However some enemies have very hard to read attacks, and if they come at you more than one at a time chances are you will be hit by one of them because he doesn't draw his shield fast enough.

I will keep playing, but I really don't know how I feel about the gameplay overall. The red/green orb thing feels limiting, whereas in Eternal you could use any combination of weapon to approach the enemies as you like. Here you are forced to parry, especially bosses which have super armor until you've parried enough.

It gets a lot better after the first dragon segment. Yeah, you have a shield now and can parry, but it's a pretty cool mechanic to change things up.

Well if this is a Doom game how can it be a Doom clone?
:D

But i get your point OP.
Also, have you noticed that Nightmare difficulty has become TOO EASY? It seems like the game has been made more casual :(

Game picks up around chapter 10, only gets better.

So it was worth leaving 13 chapters like in the previous parts? Lol
