I cant play with out a ray tracing capable gpu?
waaaaaaa? i wish i would of known that before i bought it. =P my lil engine that could a$$ laptop cant handle it. I cant turn of the ray tracing or something though?

Wait so my $1k 7900xtx can't play the game b/c it's an AMD gpu and doesn't have native ray tracing?

You can run the game fine, well even, it's just going to crap the bed when the path tracing update comes if you try to use that on it. It's just like 7 year old+ GPUs with zero RT support that won't work.

Ahh ok. I don't object to ID Software having Doom drive next gen graphics (like D3 did back in the day), but I would have been surprised if they thought it was OK to alienate AMD users lol. That's a big market share (not as big as Nvidia, but still)

They will no doubt have a setting for it eventually. Nvidia has paid them a lot of money to not have the setting on launch to push their cards.

No way would they alienate 90% of their potential player base permanently just for a gimmick setting.
