Quake2+4 more like scifi military
Quake3, Live, Champions are only multiplayer
I do wonder if Doom Dark Ages is being set up as a prequel to Quake's reboot.
"I think there is some element of cthulhu and cosmic horror in our next game"- Hugo
Q2 4 theme
NiN for soundtrack
And keep those degenerates machine games as far away as possible.
If they make some woke protag, im out.
Both now have nail guns.
- John Romero at the helm of level design (no "Daikatana 2" jokes plox)
- SP campaign, with some (cool) cinematics, but *not* a story-focused game
- it should feel like OG Quake, dark, brown, medieval, with Lovecraft horror
- some sort of appearance of Stroggs near the end of the game
- MP mode to feature more game modes and a selection of classic and new maps
- dedicated servers support
- modding support (tools, workshop)
- multiplatform but PC version comes with all the "bells and whistles"
Expectations:
- we'll probably have to make up with DooM Dark Ages
- Quake Champions will keep being supported
- maybe some more remasters (Quake III Arena? Quake 4? Quake Wars?)
EDIT: oh yeah, forgot NIN soundtrack, this is obligatory ofc.
The reason we are getting a Doom game this early is because Id Software has to compensate for Bethesda releasing nothing BUT blunders immediately after Eternal, which was also impacted by both Bethesda and Covid.
I mean Dark Ages is the game that might turn the tables for Bethesda after Redfall and Starfield.
