Hoping for a good story
Here's to hopping the story in this one is good, very disappointed this is a prequel since there are still way too many unanswered questions from TAG2.

Oh yeah Tunnel, for Q11 for why the Slayer chose to destroy the Father's life sphere, TAG2 indirectly answered this:

The Father was afraid that as Davoth created him, the Dark Lord's death would mean his own.

Therefore, if the Slayer had retrieved his life sphere as Samur wanted him to, then the Father would never allow him to take Davoth's life sphere.

Story? In a DOOM game? Here's demons, you have to kill them all. That's all the story you need.

In Doom 2016, there's a loading screen at the beginning of the game:

"You don't care. You just need ammo."

That is the perfect story for every Doom game ever made and adding more to it just ruins it IMO.

Just give me my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ammo and leave me to it, please.

I hate when people say this, look its fine that you don't care about the story, but I do and I feel as though I have right to when they obviously intentionally made a story, if story was not important to this game then there would be no story trailers nor lore codex's.

Joking aside there will be a story in this - likely showing the Slayer immediately after entering the divinity machine and going to war for the Maykrs against Davoth, right before the Khan Maykr betrays him and the Sentinels.

I think it will be much more straightforward and basic now that we kind of know the backstory, and its the first time in the series we've really gone back in time to a pre-existing point.

Yeah I imagine the big twist will be finding out about the Makyrs betrayal of Sentinel Prime. Still though, we already KNOW that, hence why I'm angry its a prequel, we already know what happened, I'm excited for the gameplay but I'm already going into the story know what will likely happen. It irks me because I doubt the game will be a sequel in the last section like Half-Life Alyx or something and I doubt the DLC will touch on that either, plus me thinks that this will be the last Doom game for a while, unless Bethesda/Microsoft goes full greed. Which might happen because Doom is pretty much there top successful franchise right now.

That's why I liked Eternal more than Doom 2016 because Eternal had a better story.

Haha, I'm pretty sure they'll be making more Dooms.

They can step into the "next" epoch of the Slayers story. He's in a coffin - he can wake up again.

I personally felt Hugo Martin's claim for this age means little.

He said Doom 2016 was "run and shoot," Eternal was "jump and shoot," and this one is "stand and fight."

But that means squat to me. Even Call of Duty when it first came out in 2003 had THAT theme....
