What Qs you want answered?
I didn't know that, but then again I never played any of the Quake games save for Quake 4.
Was that actually canon? I remember Quake 3 being a crossover of Doom and Quake characters and areas, but I haven't heard anything since.
Which is fine, but there ARE people who buy the Doom games for the lore. It's not JUST ripping and tearing.
Eternal's story was fine. 2016's story was the worse one, felt more like an afterthought.
1. What is Samur up to? We know he survived TAG1, and it's already been shown that he will retaliate if it comes to it, we also know that transfiguration has already taken its course so he’s only going to get worse.
2. What happens to the demonic crucible?
3. What's VEGA/The Father doing now?
4. What were all those spheres around the The Fathers and the Dark Lords spheres?
5. We never learned anything about the Ancient Gods at all, we just know that they exist.
6. We also had the lore bomb about the Wraiths and it was never brought up again.
7. What happens to the Intern?
8. What happened to the Sentinels stuck in Immora? Are they just eternal residents there now?
9. What happened to the people of Immora?
10. There's still a lot of conflicting info given by TAG1 and 2016, namely why the Slayer looks like the Dark Lord, it's not the other way around as we encounter pictures of the Dark Lord before his form is brought back into creation.
11. We still have no idea why the Slayer chose to destroy the Fathers life sphere.
12. A lot of the prophecies from 2016 still have been unfulfilled, namely this one: “Yet even as the Doom Slayer revels in the spoils of his war, another shall rise from the fires: a dark priest consumed by the Crucible. And even the Doom Slayer shall weep in his shadow."
13. This is the biggest one, but overall we have accomplished nothing and/or made things worse in the Doom universe. Hell still exists even if its influence has been cut off from outside other realms, or rather for the time being, I refuse to believe that Samur or VEGA won't try to rule over Hell and ruin things in the process. We also know that the suffering of countless sentient beings is still insured since it’s implied in Eternal that there's no real source of salvation in the Doom universe so all sentient beings are doomed to Hell. I don’t know about you but that doesn't exactly seem like a happy ending to me.
Story in Doom Eternal i consider a mess, so for me it's better that it's a prequel.
What did you see what as mess in Eternal?
A small episodic narrative at the end of every 5 levels may be cool, +/- a dead bunny head.
