So not totally unlike DOOM Eternal, then.
Yes I realize that every mission in HD2 involves trotting around a barren landscape
Talk about misunderstanding the audience for Doom as a franchise. Then again, the Doom devs have lost the plot already with their other multiplayer offerings, so i wouldn't really hold my breath. Frankly, as long as it stays single player focused, put whatever secondary mode you want into Doom, but it doesn't need to turn into a coop shooter to be successful.
Do you? I mean I spent most of HD2 running away from monsters and being kicked when I started shooting at them. That's also relatively true of the other 2 games you mentioned.
I guess if you were playing Eternal like that you'd absolutely hate it, so checks out. Eternal gives you a library of tools that make running and waiting laughable options.
Sounds like you were playing the wrong type of game. But for your sake here's hoping TDA adds mechanics like Hell Divers. LFD2 and Killing Floor that reward you for running and hiding.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
However, whatever they will come up with, I am assured in advance that it will not be a game that hold me for long. I think I will beat it once/twice and then get back to gzdoom. My hopes are not very high
