Who is the new composer?

Am definitely gonna miss my boy Mick Gordon, but am curious of his replacement. I personally really like the music in the new trailer, so am interested to see who is the new composer.

I think everyone will miss Mick as the main composer. He made such a big contribution towards Doom 2016 and Eternal. If Mick won't do the soundtrack for this (which he most likely won't), i hope it's gonna be David Levy and Andrew Hulshult. They both made the tracks for Eternal DLCs and they are incredible. If those 2 make the soundtrack, the game is in good hands to be honest.

While the music in the trailer wasn't terrible, it lacked that punch Mick Gordons tracks have. It kind of faded into the background of the trailer for me. Micks Music always felt like it was part of the actual game and integral to what was going on, on screen. Going from some some of the greatest soundtracks in videos games to just something thats pretty good is going to be disappointing for me.

I think Andrew will do fine, but I couldn't agree more. Mick perfected how to make music for a video game and he knew best how to make it work with the game's dynamic music system. If you watch any of Mick's interviews or his GDC talk, there's so many subtle things going on that made the OST what is was in 2016 and Eternal, and I'm not just talking about "hurr hurr chainsaw as guitar".

Yea I have watched all his GDC talks and Interviews, the man knows video game music. Its not just DOOM either PREY 2017 and its synth music feels the same way. I have doubts that anyone can really do what he did at the same quality.

They used a bit of Kar En Tuk in the latest trailer... it's at the end.

Honestly, Mick pushed the envelope so HARD with both Doom and Doom Eternal... That's what I love most about the two soundtracks, and it's a shame we probably wont see the same leap forward without him.

the poster probably confused him for gordon. i couldnt find anything about hulshult on google regarding id, bethesda, and scandal and drama.

Should def be Andrew Hulshult. He did compose the ost for The Ancient Gods dlc's for Eternal, so theres no better fit than him to take on the role.
