You can go about linking his other games, but Prodeus starts to sound like a broken record halfway through the game, and Dusk is nice because he leans more into his atmospheric talents more than 'boomer shooter metal'. Heck, another game I own that he did the music in is Amid Evil. The only -good- music in that, imho is his Arcane Realm songs, and the tongue-in-cheek remix of 'Shawn's Got The Shotgun' for the secret boss in Black Labyrinth.
In most cases, Hulshult's best song on a game soundtrack is the first one on the track and then a sharp quality loss follows, especially if the tracks of the game don't lean into his strengths. I'm certain that the songs linked from Prodeus are only his strongest tracks to assist his fans to prove that he's not a dumpster goblin that does music for all of the Boomer Shooters.
I swear he reuses the riff from Departure from Destruction, a Dusk track, in a lot of his tracks.
Sure game soundtracks do often require repeating motifs, like you can't disassociate Serious Sam from loud jungle/tribal drums and a mean brass line (yes, BRASS not BASS).
Screw ID, screw their greedy management
No ♥♥♥♥, sherlock.
I hope for someone better than dumpster fire gremlin, Andrew Hulshult.
I do think Andrew’s work in TAG 2 is weak compared to his earlier work and that of his contemporaries; World Spear, Reclaimed Earth, and The Dark Lord are very simple tracks that lack punch. However, both David and Andrew have confirmed that they’re not associated with The Dark Ages at all, so you’re disparaging the work of a currently unknown artist because you dislike Andrew.
It would be wise to reserve judgement about the music until more information is known.
♥♥♥♥ id software not only for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ him on business matters but also for trying to immitate his work instead of trying to fix their relationship
Neither Andrew Hulshult or David Levy are working on TDA.
At this point, this is just searching for an excuse to trash-talk someone because they... made music you didn't like.
In the words of Goggles from System Shock 2.
Naahhh.
I'll dunk on rubbish bin hobgoblins whenever I get the chance.
It doesn't make your opinion any more or less valid, you people are like a fart in the wind.
Way to add more toxicity to Mick's name, I'm sure he'd be ultra proud.
Yes, when you follow your own words.
I just don't like Hulshult's same-y, bland style of music. I don't have any opinion of Levy.
Any minuses?
