Because it's the muzak of "yeaahhh we're playing a metal-inspired FPS nowwww"
Having something thats interesting to listen to is one thing, I'm sure Andrew will craft some great pieces. But its another thing entirely to create a piece that enhances what you are actually doing in the game which is what Mick excels at. He doesn't create background music he creates interactive tracks that are just as much part of the game as the lvl design.
I can dig that.
I liked Hulshult's theme for Blood Swamps in Eternal, but Levy did more non-Mick stuff that I liked in that game.
So I'd be good with Levy or even someone else completely different. I really don't care who does the music as long as it works.

well basically, I'm leading to the fact that it would be cool to hear the tracks of this guy in doom
Listen to Fall of Davoth by Geoffrey Day. He broke down what Hulshult did wrong with his final boss theme, broke down how Mick Gordon would've done it based on his known design ethos, and then he followed Mick's method and make a godly banger of a track that would've almost redeemed the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bossfight if it had been the theme we got to fight him to. Listening to Fall of Davoth really, truly illustrates just how badly Hulshult missed the mark, and what we lost because of Marty Stratton's jealousy and greed in butting Mick Gordon out of the project halfway through.
They're solid and fit their role for the setting really well. You just don't like them.
His work wasn't weak my any means, thus the correction.
