Controls are messed up

First of all, the game is awesome.

But sometimes i really struggle with the controls. I understand that this game is like Goat Simulator but with cats, so the controls cannot be perfect.
But sometimes i struggle to even just move forward, as i slide back all the time whenever i want to reach forward.

And unfortunately i have a low ceiling with cables dangling from the top (VR Tracker dongles) which makes jumping high really difficult.

Do you have any tips on how to efficiently move forward?

One thing i did not note here, sometimes it seems to pause my game, but i cannot see the pause screen. I have not yet figured out what is the root cause of this happening

would also like to know why i constantly slide backwards , even when not touching movment button, its like i have a rubbeband holding me back and im always trying to pull away from it.

I play sitting on my bed. I have a link cable, and it just sits behind my left shoulder the entire time( I end up forgetting it's there)

for walking, treat it like a bicycle, but with your hands. For backwards, same thing but reverse it and push backward after a paw touches the ground.

And for jumping, punch both hands down at an angle at the same time( down, and forward, faster punch downward = higher, or farther).

You don't physically jump irl to jump in this game, so im confused and baffled by jumping being difficult due to low ceilings. When you're climbing walls you don't need to reach above your head, just make a ladder climb motion in front of you, as fast or slow as you'd like/ are comfortable with for climbing.

There is no circumstance in the game in which you should be reaching above your head, and hitting a ceiling as well. All of the motions in game are downward, and circular aside from climbing. If you are hitting the ceiling ,or reaching above your head, or physically jumping irl, you might not be playing " I Am Cat"

With the floor around the chess level if you don't press the grip in you auto move because when not press that's the walking thing you wanna call it so stupid hope the add options to change the setting at will to make it feel right to each player.

heya i get kind of a claws problem. im at the very intro, having to climb a wall using claws.
i am using my claws and doing the ladder movement. but im not sticking to the wall at all.
its as if i havent got my claws out.

so im stuck at the beginning screeen (i did figure out how to jump but i cant get ontop of the tv to dodge the task)

how do i fix this?

You only use your claws to grab stuff, scratch stuff and put both on the ground to purr. You climb around using your paws only.

Ok so i tried this, eventho the intro video says to use claws and... no rezult, im just petting the wall now it seems. Thank you for the surgestion tho

Hello everyone I still haven't figured out how to move without being thrown back. I tried it on Oculus Rift 1 and on Playstation VR2 - it throws me off!!! What is the button to move? As I understand it, we move physically with our paws - the movements of the controllers are monitored. What is the right way to do this? Move your paws quickly and quickly and throw them away, lift them slowly and high and throw them away, even in a jump they throw them away! Are the controllers being monitored incorrectly, or am I doing something wrong?! It's impossible to play and get fun! Please help me figure it out!

how do i run. copliot it says hold the triger down it dose not work i have try like so many times.
