Blending tool
Hello everyone! To me it doesn't seem like there's a good blending tool. Im trying to make clouds and blend in different colors, but can't very well with the tools I see.
The bluring tool just makes things look out of focus, the spredding tool...just spreads the colors around, and while the fingertip tool seems to be the closest to what I need it still doesnt blend the colors together...
Anyone have some help they can give me?

Well, have you tried to fiddle with their settings? Reminds me I outta add some of those to my resource pack.

When I wanna make clouds, usually I grab a brush with a somewhat high "Diffuse" setting on the Stroke Options, then apply a Median Filter on it. It's not perfect, but it looks fine for the short while it takes.

I've been trying to mess with the settings and so far I haven't had any luck... nothing is getting to where I want. Like I said before, spred tool just moves the colors around, finger tool is like the spread tool, but it blurs things a little...but the colors don't blend, and the bluring tool just makes things look out of focus... which isnt exacly blending the colors.
I can't get any of the tools to really blend colors nicely. I really like open canvas, so I don't just want to use another program.. if I can't get past this I probably will though, which doesn't make me happy

Well, for actual color blending, you could look at the watercolor tool. It's pretty much like the Pencil tool, but has color blending properties.

Do you have an example of what effect are you trying to achieve? Like a reference image, or something? I'm sure it's only a matter of fussing around with settings a tad.

So, really I'm just trying to do what this guy is doing https://youtu.be/BbTC8rfG95s I just tried to use the watercolor tool and it doesn't seem to do quite the same thing. I'm not just trying to make clouds, but being able to blend like the tool in that video is exacly what I need. I know its a different program, but I was hoping I could replicate it here, since all my work is in open canvas

Hmm... to start off, the colors on the video seem to be of... well, low quality. Not saying the guy's doing anything wrong in the artwork, but the video encoding seems a bit off.

Regardless, I'm not seeing anything there that OC can't do. Tell me, would this result work for you? -> http://prntscr.com/8e9z9r

If the answer is yes... well, here's the event file for it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0d3ja1iydi0wspd/oc6CloudQuickie001.oe6?dl=0

I hope you DO find that useful, or I just wasted 10 minutes. XD

That result works fantastically!! Thank you so much! Very much not a waste of your time, I really appreciate your help! I'll just keep tweaking the setting in OC to try and get exacly what I need.

In this particular instance, I'm trying to blend red into a brown wall because the sun is reflecting the red from another wall onto it

Ah, good to know! Again, just keep fiddling with the settings. As much as I like OC, truth be told that it's defaults are kind of "meh" at best.

As with the effect you want to do, I'm afraid I'm having issues visualizing it. Got any references on that?

Really crappy and quick, but heres kinda a example of what I'm trying to do. I'm still just a beginner, and I really need to work on my quick draw skills, but yeah there ya go. The wall on the left. I guess one problem plaguing me is I get lag when I use the blur tool...which really shouldn't happen because my PC should have enough juice for anything I throw at it...I try to reduce the canvas size, but that only helps so much. Anyway, thanks for you help so far! I really do appreciate everything you've done!!
