How to paste multiple images into one picture?
Hi,

I drag and drop a downloaded jpeg into Open Canvas 6, and the jpeg takes up the whole canvas. Then I try to drag and drop another jpeg, but it replaces the original. Also, I can't seem to make the jpeg smaller but still have the rest of the canvas still there; when I resize the image, it takes up the whole canvas still but the canvas is just smaller. I have gotten around this by CTRL C over a resized smaller image, pasting, and starting a new project, pasting a different picture into the new project, then CTRL C / V into the original project so now I have two jpegs in one project. But this method is not intuitive at all and there must be a better way to do it. Please help. Thanks.

It is really just that, CTRL+C in your desired image, then CTRL+V into your canvas.
This will past the image as a new layer.
To resize a layer, press CTRL+T to enter transform tool, then hold SHIFT, and grab one of the corners to resize.
You can also do that without holding SHIFT, but you'll risk squishing or stretching your image.

Press enter once happy with the result.

Then you can move it around with the move tool.

Drag and drop works in Photoshop, not OC unfortunately ^^'
I should check this forum more frequently because I often see question months after they're posted XD But I hope this helps somebody.

Thanks dude, next time I’m on OC I will try what you just said. Do you think I can say I know photo editing if I know OC well? Or do I know illustration rather?

Cheers!
Hmm interesting question. It depends on what you want from photo editing.
Because while you can edit photos in OC, it is more specialized for drawing/painting. So you'll see a lot of things in Photoshop that can be done much more easily, you have to do manually in OC.

I mainly use OC for drawing and I prefer it over Photoshop in that regard, but if I want serious photo editing, I got to Photoshop.

As for Illustrator, I haven't used it myself, but from what I heard it is more focused on making graphics and logos in vector shapes.

So yes, depending on how elaborate you wanna edit photos, you can do it on OC.
You've got your basic functions such as brightness and contrast, saturation, color levels... etc. Then you've got some filters like Blur, sharpen and lighting...etc.

But can you cut people out from images and put them in another? Sure can but it takes a good effort.
All of this considering we're talking about "photos" of real people/real places... etc.
For drawings it is easier since there are more clear cut lines.

So maybe work on this, and when you feel you have hit a wall in terms of software capabilities then move on to another :)

Sorry for the long reply, hope it helps!
