How to build a good mech?
I had in mind to build a robot that uses mech legs. I wanted to know a good way to build it so it'd be sturdy . I plan on using the gyro mortar. Thanks in advance :)

You sure you want it to be auf mech?

Also sprinter would be more suitable:
-the mortar is a weapon dealing high damage, so you should try keeping the cpu low:
Epic Sprinters have less cpu in general then the epic mechlegs and have only 3(epic mech has 5) blocks between the connectionpoints which can be connected with rods.
This means that cpu has to get used to make the mech as wide as needed.
-Sprinters are faster then mechs, so you are able to dodge the damage.

Before i go on.
Should it have 2 or 4 legs?

2 legs. I already have them.

Epic

Okay.
Place both as close as possible together and connect them with either 3 short rods or 1 short strut.

Also place 1 rod(1) ontop of each leg, like this:
000 ^ 000
000 | 000
001 | 100

The rods will connect the legs to the upper body.

Then you will try to get as much weight as possible on the front, so the mortar will be able to lean itsself to the front making it easier to shot.

I will come back later with more ideas, think about the secoundary weapons you want to use.

How the shape could look like(for leaning to the front):

As secondareis I would prefer plasmas or laser. I would like a lot to put a chain shredder (or maybe 2) on it, but if I do that I lose basically all the dam boost. Also, do I have to use normal blocks or Light Blocks?

I would use the laser so you have ranged fire.

I have a few mortar mechs. Although not as useful, I still like using internal hover to get away when I lose my legs (because you know it will happen.

1+ for lasers:thumbup:

Depending on the shape of the bot it will be more practical to use hover with either:
-5 or more hovers, to become a full hover, after the legs are gone
-3 or less hovers, to be able to slide away, to get away and recover.

Do you know how to post a screenshot?
I'd like to see the current state of the bot.(@Snarkknight):MrSkull:

Press F12 for the picture and then press SHIFT + TAB, then locate "view screenshots" on the middle left. After you uploaded them to the public, go to your profile and find that uploaded screenshot and copy and paste the link here.

Make it top heavy so it tilts and falls on it's face, put a second set of mech legs higher up in an arm position, this will catch the tilt while you're moving keeping the mortar in a good position and creating a strange speed boost as the bot keeps trying to right itself. put mortar for head, super maneuverable point blank mortars .. and you can do some gnarly kung fu with it.

add a flak if you're scared of planes

I made a "dog" with a mortar head and rail tail. it's 2k cpu, built it to tank other mortar-bots. the front legs are higher than the back so it does the lean forward thing, giving the mortar a better angle for firing closer. there's 2 versions on the crf if you want to look, My in game name is Loonee. it started at a lower cpu, but i wanted a tanky bot so beefed it up.

What, I've got an audience now? Fuuuuuuuuu- better get to work on it then.
I was thinking of making a doggo for point blank mortars, after seeing one in action.
Oh, by the way, I know how to take screenshots but I don't know how to post screenshots. How do I do that?

Look in your library on steam.
Click "robocraft" and then you see the screenshots click the ones you need and click "upload".

You find the uploaded screenshots on your profile.
Clicking one, opens a window from which you get copy the link from.
