Walker Help
Hey, guys. I've been trying to build a walker using the insect legs, but I can't seem to work out the whole how-to-get-onto-a-wall thing. I can manage it just fine if there's a ramp at the base of the wall, but if there's a 90-degree angle between wall and ground, the robot just walks into the wall. I've tried jumping at the wall, but I seem to have to get it incredibly precise, or the robot will just derp out and flip upside down. I also tried some suggestions from the wiki, like adding legs to the front rather than the sides, but that didn't seem to help. Any tips?

Walking up to it at an angle should get you on a steep wall.

Just to clarify in case it isn't clear, that means approach the wall with your bot turned partly to the left or right rather than going at it straight, another thing that can help is to go to the base side on and turn towards the wall as you walk onto it.

With practice you can also make a bot with downward thrust on the back to jump then crouch on approach so it tilts upright but thats really not worth the effort, its far too situational a build feature and prone to the upside down leg lock bug if you don't quite get it right.

the trick i always use to get onto walls with walkers is to add some downwards facing thrusters (i guess you could use props) to the back of your bot.
walk at a wall and jump just before reaching it then hit your down button (shift is default).
you should keep your momentum but tip backwards which will help.

as long as you have enough downwards force on the back it will work well.

the real difficulty with crawler legs is getting it so you can hang under things.
you use a simmalar setup but slightly different.

when it comes to staying attatched to walls it helps to have some downwards thrusters which you keep on.
props would probobly work even better for this since they have been added.

having forward or rear facing legs can help to.
