@op Pretty sure the current update is a 1st step to adding this stuff & the cube/rod update was something they had ready to tide us over. Just my opinion though
Robot Ranking shows your robot tier progress as you build it to better optimize it for a tier. Robocraft has a wide array of movement parts too. There are many bot types to build and even hybrids. All of what you build will soon have robot ranking to show your tier optimization progress.
The tech tree is already a great progression system. Whether it becomes infinite or not, it does not matter. What needs to be progressed in Robocraft is not parts that we grind for. It's all the types of robots we build and improve. Not sticking just to a single playstyle of movement parts.
Aside from building, there is also room for improving piloting of all the robot types. Don't forget how well one can aim using each robot type. If freejam added a statistics feature to show the improvement of your building skill, piloting and accuracy will you still need more of a progression system?
I do want some achievement badges to be added for weapon accuracy statistics. It's nice if there are badges you can unlock, display on your robot and profile after fulfilling a long term achievement. This is all we have right now in Robocraft but I find it satisfying enough to improve on building different robots and I take that as my progression.
I can finally immerse myself in building and designing thanks to the infinity update later. Oh god yes.
2,600 players peek for the steam stats this month
Ah this vid.
Freejam: we specify the weeks it will take for the next update on our dev jam but it's a just a bluff. Instead we work on stuff the community didn't ask for again ahihihiii hii hi.
I'm not trying to badmouth them but it's pretty accurate.
& yes, the community has been asking for more rods & cubes for a long time. Parts of the unified login may be laying groundwork for infinity.
I agree, I guess RC has finally become Mark's vision of a 'lego sandbox' :/
It just removes a another component of the game that I enjoy (leveling up from 0 to tier 10 used to be a lot of fun imo
Relax man, I was parodying the video. I didn't mean any of that. Overall Robocraft is a great game. As long as I can keep building I got no problems with the game.
I won't even start Remove [Insert here] or Nerf [Insert here] arguments. Ever since the unified login, I can tell how much they're struggling with the number of update fixes.
They can work as long as they like with the groundwork, they do fix things quickly when needed to and everything is fine up till now.
There is one bug since the unified login updates. I can't remove my crf uploads, the remove bot button became the "get" button like for crf uploads of other bots. Even the report bot button is available for personal crf uploads.
I can report my own bot uploads... Do I have to write this to their game support or have there been people who experienced the same bug and have already written bug reports of this? I reached my upload limit and can't upload unless I remove an old bot, which I need the missing remove button for..
Yes, they do know about the crf bug & I have heard it will be fixed soon. I wouldn't report your own bots as I'm pretty sure it ties up tech support time.
Iirc RC is a 10+ game right? It makes me wonder if the main source of all these rants are immature and pessimistic kids. Like flying straight into aeroflak, calling allies noobs with the lowest score on team, the bot with no situational awareness, etc
It's a robot building game, the bots built can be optimised to do certain tasks. The community complains drones are a problem, just classifying it as unbeatable despite the fact that most drone users actually suck at dodging and using cover.
Besides that, some say nerf aeroflak. It's OP and broken they say. Don't they realise they just suck at flying behind cover. If they wanted to compete against aeroflak, a high tier plane should always carry a blink module. A part of the community just keeps blaming the game for their own lack of ingenuity.
I really appreciate all the updates the devs are doing. They have been giving what's asked for. It's small but did anyone notice that improved crosshairs and weapon feedback is actually in the tiers update list? They've managed to add it early but I see so many ungrateful comments in the weapon feedback post.
The single player campaign looks fun and they mentioned phase 3 on the recent post. Hopefully it will calm the community for now. What is actually bothering the community right now? Drones and metabots?
Imo thats a very good observation although they are partially right, drones are a bit too good at what they do (in certain situations).
Yup & its likely how many aspects will come. Some small & some big chunks. Many seemed to notice & there is a fair amount that do not like the new crosshairs and weapon feedback. It was awesome of fj to give us a way to turn it off (best of both worlds).
Drones and metabots seem to always bother the community. The sp campaign looks cool imo but I have already seen complaints about it. I guess you can't win them all & hope fj keeps trying. I will admit, this game requires a bit of patience but if you can handle that its a great game with a lot of potential. Personally, the 5v11111 matching has turned me off a bit & feel that since the 5 are the ones complaining of q time they have a responsibility to be good sports about it & if you play 5 man meta you should take it to league. Most of the drone/meta complaints I have seen turn out to be parties & not just the bots in question. Sure, drones & those levi/ion hovers are strong but so is teamwork & together strengths are augmented.
Fj is a small dev team & can't react & do as much as a large studio. As part of a community we can help to pick up slack (keeping non league creative & casual, making guids, tutorials, groups to help new players learn, give constructive criticism). Or we can troll, downvote while not understanding the game, bash & complain, trashtalk devs, uninstall & generally be toxic.
Tbh, I have 2 big issues with the game. 5v11111 mm & the community. I mildly understand the mm, its not fair but full party q times are a bit too long without it. Imo, the community is part of the problem. They don't band together as crafters. Often joining up with randoms means getting trolled or waiting forever for them to finish arguing with their mom about homework. Being good often grants you hate rather than respect. Immediately blaming your team rather than using chat/ping to encourage smart play. Leaving if its not a sure thing. Blatant ignorance of the game & supporting media. But then again, its a 10+ game......
Thanks fof a normal conversation, sorry for the rant. I can't say I agree or disagree with you but it seems you understand the devs have a fullrr plate than many make it out to be. I quit long ago but came back with an open mind. I take short breaks when frustrated but could never stay away.
Ok, I forgot what my point was......
