[SOLVED]Radar or Larger/Brighter Indicator of Enemy Presence
I realize this isn't a finished game, so please don't take my request as complaining. I have to say that your game is one of the best flying games I have found.

That said, it's really hard to find enemies to engage. I was playing the Canyon map against AI last night and I only saw my opponent once. The existing enemy indicator is difficult to see due to size and color. I would LOVE it if radar were added that showed enemies within a certain range displayed relative to your plane's present course. If you want to go wild, even making it like real radar that cannot see through terrain would be great!

Thanks for listening.

First, don't apologize for having some requirements, as you said the game is not finished and we appreciate every feedback players might give.

Now about the aircraft labels/icons, yes they are difficult to see, especially in the desert environment as the enemy icon color is too close to the terrain general color. We will tweak it soon !

About the radar, we initially implemented one, but it was a game design decision to remove it at last. I'd suggest that first we improve the icon contrast and after that, if it's not enough, we will start thinking about re-integrating the radar.

Thank you for the reply. I've never actually talked to the developer of a game before.

I can understand where you are coming from on the indicators and radar. This isn't a simulator, it's an arcade-ish dogfight game. More stuff on the screen pulls you out of the experience. I'm going to attempt to post a photo that might represent a compromise. Essentially, there would be small plane icons placed around the screen much like the indicator is now, and the user could control the size in the options. Anyway, planes that are too far away are shown in green as a non-immediate threat. Headed in the players direction would be yellow. Within proximity to begin firing would be red, and when the enemy began firing their plane icon would flash red.. If only game development were so easy that you could just speak this into existance. Thanks for all the hard work, and please keep it up!

Well we're human like the rest :)

Thank you for your picture and suggestions, we really appreciate it.

I think an option to increase icon size would be nice, and in most of cases increase the "out of screen" icon size will help a lot, we will add this soon.

About the colour, it may be trickier though, as in multiplayer you have friends and foes, so it may be messy with a lot of different coloured icons in the screen.

In the last patch (MkIII k), there is now an option located in the "general" tab of the options menu allowing you to change the icons & labels sizes.

We're looking forward your comments about it :)

That patch does make a pretty large(no pun intended) improvement. As you mentioned before, the red sort of blends with the ground on desert maps, but it far more useful, at least to me, at a larger size.
