the lack of voice acting for 95% of the dialogue in the cutscenes is very sad and big disappointment

not dangonranpa which is what these guys made they would voice main story content and not voice free day or optional. At least 50% of the game as voiced

No.
The opposite actually. Very many Japanese visual novels utilize voice acting well.

Danganronpa, too, was lazy as f--- and a huge part of the games were unvoiced too.

exactly i expect a visual novel to be voiced if i just want to read lines of text with still pictures i will read a book. The voice acting adds so much character and expression to the game

From what I played in the demo, it seems to be about on par with Danganronpa.

Not because it has a lot, but because Danganronpa has very little voice acting too. Outside of class trials, which are about 30% of the games? I think only CGs had voice acting.
THL has CG voice acting and the occasional voice acted story scenes, which I don't think is far behind class trial amount?
Only the most important scenes have voice acting, which makes sense in a game with this gigantic amount of text and routes/endings.

Its definitely not 90%. For me its more than enough to hear the characters voices in my head as a read the lines. It feels like a good balance to me, but I'm not saying I disagree. There are so many games that have no voices or no English dub, so Im happy with this. I loved the demo and cant wait for the game

People who call it "lazy" don't understand that it's almost never that. It's usually a budget issue. These are smaller devs people. Not multi billion dollar companies like Sony or Microsoft.

It's ALWAYS laziness and cheapness.
Indie VNs are frequently crazy long and fully voiced, there was never an excuse for a crazy popular game like Danganronpa to suffer from this and obviously the same applies to all of its spiritual successors.

People like to defend Kodaka, but he's a bad developer who cuts corners at every step and just has a talent for writing twists.

In this defence the script size for this is larger then all the danganronpa games put together

It is almost always a budget issue. News flash, most indie VNs put a large portion of their budget into the voice acting. They're mostly text and still screens with the occasional live 2D animation if you're lucky. That's how they allocate their budget. This game is very clearly not that.

Most people who loudly claim "lazy devs" have no clue how game development works, and you are proving that fact true as usual.

I forgot to check the options in the demo, but does anyone know if there's atleast a way to turn off all the grunts?

Constantly hearing the "HRRrggghh" "AHHH" "WahhH!" "Ughh!" nonsense nothing-words when flipping through dialogue windows is super distracting.

I don't *think* it was this bad in Danganronpa? Or atleast it didn't register with me enough to comment on it back then compared to this demo. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Please, you don't read any books. That's why you're crying about unvoiced dialogue in a VN. (´_ゝ`)
