Not being able to go into the options drives me nuts

Games that lock you out of the menu, from changing the volume, pausing the game until you get to a certain point drives me nuts. I know games like Persona have some long intros, but I couldn't even exit the demo when I needed to leave. I had to hit ctrl+alt+del to get out of the program. Don't lock users out of basic functions.

It so annoying. I just want to be a ble to pause the demo so I can go back to work! Did you manage to do this in the end?
