Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION

Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION

Statistiche:
This is very scummy
They're all ancient games and pretty much just ROMS.
Do not charge more than 5$

People have offered these for free as ROMS because they weren't sold anywhere, it's just pure rude to then re-release it after what 25? years? for money?

All they did was re-skin an emulator.

Thinking about picking it up. Did Konami at least package the roms with the game? If so it may have more value than you think.
Bruh 60 dollars for what, it's a rip off! If they had at least added the artwork, the pictures, so that I could see in the game which cards are on the playing field, then I would have been interested, but the developers really haven't improved anything.
Messaggio originale di Alexmon:
$87.95 AUD for a handful of GBA ROMs is insane. Only actual dribbling morons would buy this. $30 AUD would have been a fair price.
$30-40 AUD would have been fair. $50-60 AUD would have been pushing it, but I could deal with it given the extras and new translations.

~$90 AUD? I can't believe it, very disappointed. I want to support Konami and the IP, but that's way too much.

They're cannibalising themselves making it that high... I'm saving THAT kind of cash for Snake Eater Delta.

using emulation technology that ironically was probably helped developed by people that pirated these games
You have no proof of that at all. Companies like nintendo, sony, etc. all had internal emulators to test their games.
The ps3 for example could emulate ps2 games perfectly long before ps2 emulation by fans was ever in a good state.

The people that developed the hardware can very easily emulate it vs. someone that didn't and has to reverse engineer it or rely on a lot of assumptions.
There's actually proof in the collection's credits. mGBA and Same Boy are mentioned directly by name.
Well there's 14 games, so it's less than $5 each, so by your own argument it's a good deal.

oh wow, that's very interesting. I just checked the licenses they have and they allow others to distribute/sell their work without giving out the source code lol. I wonder if the roms are running on those or whether they just used them for something like testing.

I wouldn't have minded if they charged £/$20, Bundle an emulator together in a nice convenient place and add some fun extras. But for ♥♥♥♥ sake.
This is way, WAY too much.

yee. gonna wait for a good sale personally.

Alternatively, for those who just can't wait:

https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/yu-gi-oh-early-days-collection

It's currently 20% off on Fanatical.
And since Fanatical is pretty much the only real legit key seller online, I say just get wild with it.

'' full math laid out for me '' is hilarious, im not going to read a whole essay with 4? new written out reasons to defend this?
If you're not going to read arguments and rebuttals, you have no business trying to take part in the argument.
Messaggio originale di hi:
NVM just looked at this ''publisher'' their other ''work''
Its all they do
Reskin an emulator and ask a larger sum of money than the original game cost (with inflation kept in mind)

And you don't even get a physical copy!:steamsad::winter2019sadgingerbread:
The very fact this is your first time ever seeing Konami before in your life and implying nobody else is aware of what is going on with this collection and company is just the icing on the cake here.

Brother, never play video games again for the rest of your life.

So this game's "developers" didn't do much of anything. Nice.
It'd be amusing if different ROM distributions had different metadata slapped onto them, and it was found out that this collection's distribution wasn't official and was pirate collaborated like the emulator they're using.

I already laid out my thoughts about the price for content in my own post, but I feel like it's pertinent to add that this collection of extremely niche GB/A roms even within their own fandom is only $10 cheaper than the collection of PS2 roms for one of the most popular franchises in broad gaming culture - Metal Gear Solid. Both owned by Konami, yet one of these communities is clearly disproportionately getting the shaft when it comes to the value.

It's not that 'paying for the games is laughable because they can be pirated' it's the notion that in any world this specific collection demands that kind of price for the quality of games included. I LOVE a lot of these games, which is why I still own physical copies I literally still play - I might not have even known about the collection if I wasn't playing the new remaster mod for Dark Duel Stories. But even as someone who loves them, it's just absolutely insane to say "Yeah DDS, sacred cards, reshef, 2004 would tour, and Destiny board traveler basically add up to a Metal Gear Solid 3 in terms of quality". No, I'm sorry but not in absolutely any universe - subjectivity be damned.

well it's yugioh fans. we don't even like our own card game, yet we still buy the 1000$ decks (yes this is a real thing) most of the people arguing seem to mostly be in agreement with the pricing, though i think 50 dollars is a bit on the expensive side, i still got it because i am a huge yugioh fan.

most people seem to be arguing over the points the OP is talking about, or more specifically the point that "well why bother getting this for any price, when you can get it for free" and insulting anyone who well, seemed to either bought it or saying it's not that big a deal

It's especially bad in Australia... where Snake Eater is $29.50 and this collection is... $88
Lets all be bullet honest here...
YES these are older games
YES they are emulated on an emulator you could technically own for free.
But do you know the real reason a lot of us bought this collection? It is not just about the games here in this one collection. I know that I in particular am happy to revisit alot of games I loved but lost over the years. But the MAIN REASON we want to pay for a collection like this is so that more collections come out later. HELL if they sell well enough we might see more new games in the future.
I know alot of people want to see TAG FORCE come back
