I would buy a minimum of 3 copies to play with my family and friends, and if it plays on my steam deck; omg.
I actually waited for this collection to see if DOR would be included, I had the money set aside for either this or Monster Hunter Wilds, (and they launch on the same day too), waiting, finds in limbo unless I saw “Duelists of the Roses” in the game list, in which case the id grab it the *instant* it was confirmed. Obviously that didn’t happen (which I wasn’t expecting considering it’s also on the switch and all GBA games) so I got Monster Hunter, but even the *possibility* of a DOR remaster had me literally put money away just in case lol
I think companies should just straight up do like a kickstarter-ish thing, where if they aren’t sure if enough people will buy something, let’s say they want $40mil for development (made up number), well if $40mil worth of people say “yeah, I’ll buy it if you make it” well then they make it, but if they only get like 12mil then they know the market isn’t big enough. I honestly feel DOR would meet whatever they see their budget at if they actually made a concrete statement saying “we are open to it if you’ll buy it” and watch them get flooded with emails.
- Monster Capsule: Breed and Battle (PS1) - Never released outside of Japan, and no fan translation exists (it is now the only untranslated Yu-Gi-Oh! game)
- Forbidden Memories (PS1)
- Duelists of the Roses (PS2)
- Capsule Monster Coliseum (PS2)
- GX Tag Force Evolution (PS2) (AKA "The Beginning of Destiny" in North America)
There are also 2 GBA games that were not included in the Early Days Collection, and there are 7 DS games (plus the Card Almanac app). The DS architecture is compatible with GBA, so it is possible for all these games to be released in their own collection.
GX Tag Force Evolution is a modified port of GX Tag Force 1 on PSP, so it can probably be excluded from a Tag Force Collection. The Tag Force games could make up a few Tag Force Collections on their own. 2-4 separate collections is likely for that many PSP games, unless the Switch 2 cartidges/keys are leveraged for greater storage.
Additionally, since Nintendo Switch Online will be adding Gamecube games on Switch 2 it's possible that The Falsebound Kingdom could be added to that service. Although, a collection of FK alongside the Wii games 5D's Duel Transfer (AKA "Master of the Cards" in Europe) and 5D's Wheelie Breakers may possible due to the similar console architecture.
As you can clearly see, I've thought about this a LOT while binging the Early Days Collection...
