Is support for this game dead?
I see Kerry in some of the threads still, but it seems support for this game has dropped off. Even the mod support has been minimal this year compared to previous years. Is this just a case of life getting in the way or interest in the game fading?

Development and updates were over a couple months ago, and Kerry has already started planning 2026. I think mostly people are playing and doing life things.
As for the mods, I think many of us are tapped out. I rarely create anything anymore, I just reuse my older stuff and update it for '25 if necessary. Really the best place to ask questions or talk about the game is the Facebook page. I check in here every so often but look in on Facebook daily.
Good too see you still hanging around. I really need to start a career, but life has kept me busy but I do a lot of simming seasons and quick games.
Completely understandable, thanks for the update!

I don't have the skills to mod but I can understand this sentiment . You people have provided me with hours and hours of enjoyment .. Only so many ways I can say thank you.

Sometimes I think I have more hours modding than game play, but I enjoy adding to the options for people.
I would love to see the game go viral so we could force Kerry back to full time development and out of this semi retirement stuff, lol.
That's how I am with some games

Great question. Speaking only for myself, it really has been a case of life getting in the way, as you put it. That said, I'm starting to go back and spend some more time updating some things with the historical mods and you'll see some updates I've made in the Mods thread. Historical Career mode is what I'm mostly focused on so that's where I'm focusing almost 100% of what little free time I have.

I'm the same way as Lee, life has taken over, and I'm worn out from some life things. Like SamGar said, I've started work on the next version. The modders have been unbelievably incredible, and even now, we're hoping to make a few big changes together for next year.

That's quite all right by me; I am enjoying PSF very much as it is. Personally, I would ask you to pay attention to two things that I posted about here: What about that Packages deal, and correcting some typos. if you can't resolve those for 2025, I am sure that you will want to do so for 2026. Thanks for a great game, rest, and marshal your forces for the next version!

I have always liked the package idea. But after thinking about it.. I can do that now with replacing players pre-play.

I agree. Plus, the game automatically rests players as needed. When they are ready to go, when would you not want your starters in there?

Better, then, to get rid of the trigger on the coaching screen and the two pages that talk about Offensive and Defensive Packages but don't do anything.

I'll have to look over the packages. I know I had high intentions for them, but I get so many requests each year for more important features (for example, I'm working on Trading Players now, and that's a big effort). I'll see what I can do to just get them out of the way for now, if that's what's needed.

Thanks for the feedback!
Being able to trade would have a much bigger impact on interest for new people to buy the game than having the ability to create packages. I thought it would be nice to be able to put in a jumbo package with one click and maybe tie it in as a game planning feature.
My dream for this game (and I think the one big missing thing) is draft classes, If anyone is up for it and if its easy enough to learn, I would love to work on making them.

Again I think thats the one big thing missing for long term career plays, especially with all the historic rosters.

I sort of started on this at one point but real life slapped me around and said NO, you have less fun stuff to do.
You can take a league file, say 1975 and export as a CSV then pull out all the rookies, then put them into a draft class CSV like the game uses for career mode. Very fiddly but doable. I think I had '70 through '79 exported but hadn't put them into a usable format. As usual I stopped working on it and those files have vanished.

I'm hoping to work on some things to make this easier. What I hope to do is provide exactly what SamGar is saying. Let you create a draft pool from any league. Then, the goal would be for the AI to fill any remaining slots (with lesser rated players than the league).

SamGar, I was discussing priorities with you guys, let's revisit this one sometime next month (after I finish the Trading Players work).
