Insane board/fans?

I've been GMing the Maple Leafs and I think the expectations of the board and fans are totally unrelistic. Basically every other trade leaves me with unhappy fans and board. I've had 10 defensemen on my roster, all eligible for waivers and I needed to get within cap boundaries, so I traded #8 on my defensemen depth chart for a 1st round pick. Uproar. I win the cup and afterwards I trade a declining Hunwick + useless David Jones + 2nd round pick for an all-star Cam Fowler and that's all it took after winning the cup to have wanning fan support and dropping by 2 levels in board support. I have won the presidents trophy twice in a row and the cup and not even that is enough to get the board confidence to "delighted". I get "very pleased" at best, but mostly just "satisfied" or "pleased", although being in the top 3 in GM ratings.

I don't remember things being this ridiculous in all the years I've been playing all the versions of EHM. Is this something I can fix with EHM Assistant, or is this just a bad update?

I've been dealing with it too. I traded 2 first round picks (29 & 30) plus a decent prospect for a franchise center that projects to be "like conner mc david". Board and fans went nuts in a bad way. Well, the dude I traded for helped me with the cup his rookie year as well as the following year- the second year putting up 105 points, winning the points title.

I'm not sure how the AI should be tweaked for this because sometimes these trades can seem like a huge risk. I've definitely had my share of trade busts. Since I have not had to worry about getting fired I haven't had too much concern with this.

That's the thing for me though, I used to be able to build up a franchise in a year or two to win the cup, now I can't make the trades that I need because I got to a point where I had to wait half a season for fans to settle down after aquiring a franchise defenseman for garbage and players that I had too many of (4 top 6 LW - somebody has to go, right?). They screwed it up good, getting complaints for trading one of my 10 defensemen is ridiculous. I appreciate the trades being harder, but I can't imagine the Leafs being unhappy about getting Fowler and Ristolainen (both better than currently, it's a few seasons in the future) for AHL players and a few players I have too much of.

Like I just signed Jamie Benn and already had van Riemsdyk, Killorn and Kreider on the left wing with Helm and Comeau also on the team. Trade Kreider and some garbage players for Ristolainen? Well, ♥♥♥♥ me apparently, the team wanted me to keep Kreider. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with him, keep a 4 million 4th line player? Trading him for a franchise defenseman seems like a logical move. Also, I dumped Phaneufs ridiculous contract for a pick and a player. A move that was celebrated in real life has enraged fans and board. They screwed it up in a way where you just can't win and get punished for not being able to keep all players of slightly higher reputation.

Sounds about right. Also, my conditioning assistant coach is the #1 rated coach in the world. I don't know how that's even possible. Looks like they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game good.
