I think it'll be linear shooter since the title name is called Gears of War instead of Gears which I hope it doesn't have too much open-world elements.

If they did open world correctly, it could be great, but in Gears I think it would be hard to do. The cinematic elements and overall atmosphere completely changed in the Gears games after the original trilogy, especially in 5. 4 was mainly the robot crap that sucked. If they did open world it needs to be smaller scale and offer more action. I have not finished Gears 5 yet, but its open world feels so empty. I am on Act 3.

Sure as hell hope not. The open ended parts of Gears 5 were terrible. It was all generic and boring open world side activities.
